The ‘Superman’ Is Flying Way Up High!
I think it is not too late to wish congrats to Faizal Tahir who had won 2 awards, Best New Artist and Most Popular Male Artist at the Anugerah Planet Muzik 2008, which was held at KL Convention Centre recently. Faizal marked down two out of four nominations, which saw Best Male Artist won by Anuar Zain while Best Album grabbed by Gigi from Indonesia.
Faizal had stolen the show with his stunning performances with old time favourite, Mahakarya Cinta and also lovely duet with Bunga Citra Lestari, with Aku dan Dirimu. Faizal also did a gimmick where he changed the ends lyric of Mahakarya Cinta with an advice of reminding the people not to take off their clothes. The performances were the first for Faizal for an award show, after the ban which ended last 15 April 2008.
Faizal during the interview, express his most gratitude feelings, “Syukur Alhamdullillah for these awards. I wouldn’t be here without the supports of everyone, especially my wife, my two kids, my parents, Ahmad Izham Omar, who kept faith in me, Audi Mok, my record label, Monkey Bone, my management The 8Unit, media friends and also the fans! And I hope that Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, together we can be the next music power house and go international!”
This is a huge comeback for Faizal despite the ban which prohibits him from performing live on television or any other media for a period of 3 months from January 15th 2008, due to his misconduct during the 8TV 4th Anniversary Concert, last year.
The next ‘battle’ for Faizal is at the AIM 15 Award. Faizal received the highest number of nominations for a male artist in Anugerah Industri Muzik 15 (AIM 15), scheduled to go on air on NTV7 the 3rd of May 2008 at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. He received 6 AIM nominations namely: Best New Artiste, Best Vocal Performance In An Album (Male), Best Engineered Album, Best Rock Album, Best Musical Arrangement In A Song (Non Bahasa Malaysia) (La Da Di Dum) and Song Of The Year (Mahakarya Cinta).
